Playa Poniente is an artificially created beach in the marina area of Gijón. Its scale is extensive and urban: 800 metres long and 70 metres wide, with golden sand, calm waters and high occupancy. The beach was restored in the 1990s, a detail that helps explain its current layout. Access is easy on foot or by car, with more than 100 parking spaces and a connection to urban bus route L-24; adapted facilities are also available.
