Beach at a glance
What it is like
Playa Peñarrubia is a very narrow stretch 550 metres long and barely 15 metres wide, surrounded by high cliffs. The mixture of sand and gravel, vegetation and cliff-lined coastal frontage give it a distinctive form, while visitor numbers are high and the swell moderate. The record also notes nudist use. It is reached by car or on foot, although the latter access is described as difficult, from the AS-256, with fewer than 50 parking spaces and an urban bus service. The beach has showers, foot showers, litter bins and a cleaning service.
