What it is like
Playa de la Joya is a naturist, hidden beach outside the urban area, between Torrenueva and Faro Sacratif. Cliffs surround its 290 metres of fine- and medium-grained dark sand, in a mountainous landscape with vegetation and few visitors. Swell is usually moderate. It can be reached via the road to Almería or from the village along the coastal path starting at Mirador del Peñón de Jolúcar; there is also a bus stopping in Torrenueva. Access on foot is considered difficult.
