What it is like
Playa Calahonda is an urban beach of dark sand, integrated beside the developed area of the same name. Its 1,375 metres of length and 55 metres of width form a busy frontage, with a promenade and usually moderate waves. Facilities include catering, sun-lounger and parasol hire, water activities, sports, children's games and diving, so equipment is central to its character. It is easily accessed on foot or by car via the N-340, with between 50 and 100 parking spaces and interurban transport.
