What it is like
Playa de Risco is an open beach on Gran Canaria, beside the district of the same name, 435 metres long and 41 metres wide. Dark sand, rounded stones and gravel occupy an isolated mountainous coast, forming part of the Parque Natural de Tamadaba and covered with vegetation. Strong waves and wind are among its usual conditions. It requires a 1-kilometre walk from the GC-200 road; access is on foot and there are litter bins and an interurban bus connection.
