What it is like
Playa de Sotavento is an isolated beach 200 metres long and 34 metres wide, formed by sand and rounded stones on the mountainous coast of the Parque Natural de Tamadaba. It is situated near Guayedra, at the mouth of the Guayedra ravine, and has vegetation, low occupancy, strong waves and constant wind. Access combines car travel with a section on foot: the first 0.7 kilometres can be covered through the ravine, but the total route requires a 0.9-kilometre walk. The description also warns of the danger of falling rocks.
