What it is like

Playa de Xagó stands out for its great extent and the dune complex accompanying its 1,700 metres of golden sand. The beach, up to 120 metres wide, is framed by the Paisaje Protegido del Cabo Peñas and the high cliffs of Cabo Negro, formed from dark slate. It is a semi-urban beach, very exposed to north-easterly winds and with strong swell, where paragliding is also practised from the cliffs. It is easily reached on foot or by car via the AS-239, with parking for more than 100 vehicles.
