What it is like

Characteristics published by official sources

Playa de Santiago extends east of the mouth of the Urola estuary and belongs to the municipalities of Getaria and Zumaia. Its 250 metres of length and 300 metres of width form a semi-urban beach of golden sand, with a large dune occupying much of its surface, as well as wetland, mountain and vegetation. Attendance is high and the waves are moderate. Access is easy on foot or by car from the N-634, with fewer than 50 parking spaces, a bus, a surf area and the Zuloaga Museum next door.
