What it is like

Characteristics published by official sources

Playa Castello is a cove of quartzite rounded stones carved into the geological formation of the serie de los cabos. The dominant presence of slate and quartz explains the texture and mineral appearance of this stretch, situated opposite a cliff and within a ZEPA/Site of Community Importance (SCI) protected area. Its 450 metres of length and 20 metres of width, vegetation and low visitor numbers complete an isolated landscape, with swell ranging from moderate to strong. Access is on foot from the N-634, with fewer than 50 parking spaces. There are showers and a nearby rest area.
