What it is like
Playa de Monellos occupies the back of a cove west of Viavélez, surrounded by low cliffs. It is an isolated beach measuring 80 metres in length and 30 metres in width, formed by cobbles, with vegetation, usually low occupancy and moderate waves. The setting belongs to ZEPA and Site of Community Importance (SCI) areas, a condition accompanying its coastal landscape. Access is easy on foot from the N-634, and the port of Navia appears as the nautical reference.
