Playa de Murgita, also known as Illurgita, is located in Donostia/San Sebastián, on the slope of Mount Ulia west of La Plata lighthouse. It is an isolated site, with a mountainous frontage and an extent of 350 metres long by 12 metres wide. Its surface consists of dark-coloured rounded stones and rock, and the surroundings retain vegetation. The beach forms part of the protected Ulia area, identified as a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and a strict special-protection zone. Access is difficult on foot from the Ulia promenade and the GI-20.
