What it is like
Playa de los Frailes, also called Asturiaga or El Fraile, is a small beach of rock and rounded stones on the eastern shore of Cape Higer. Its 62 metres of length and 30 metres of width lie beneath a mountainous front, with dark sand, vegetation and protection from the Natura 2000 Network and the coast. Strong waves and a windy character complete its profile. It is reached on foot by a difficult route from the road to Faro de Higer; scuba diving is among its uses.
