What it is like
Playa de Portizuelo is distinguished by its large rocks, cliffs and pointed formations, among which Piedra El Óleo stands out. It is a beach of rounded stones, 220 metres long and 22 metres wide, with a mountainous backdrop, vegetation and protection within the Paisaje Protegido de la Costa Occidental, ZEPA and SCI. The waves are strong and occupancy is medium. It can be reached easily on foot or by car from the signposted N-634; Luarca is listed as the port reference.
