What it is like
Playa Peñoncillo is an extensive, sparsely urbanised stretch of Torrox Costa, very close to the N-340a road. Its 1,700 metres in length and 30 metres in width combine gravel, dark sand, vegetation and small dunes in a semi-urban setting with high occupancy and moderate waves. The western end is also called Playa de Los Cuartos Catalanes. Access is by car, with more than 100 parking spaces and an urban bus connection. Practical facilities include showers, catering, parasol hire and boating services.
