Beach at a glance
What it is like
Playa Palmera is the beach of the village of Candás, an urban sandy beach 240 metres long and 40 metres wide, with golden sand and a promenade. Its most recognisable feature is La Farola, a rocky promontory used by fishermen as a guiding lighthouse. Visitor numbers are high and the swell moderate, within a fully urban setting. It is easily reached on foot or by car via the AS-239, with between 50 and 100 parking spaces and an interurban bus service to Oviedo, Gijón and Luanco. The beach offers toilets, showers, food, nautical equipment hire and adapted facilities.
