What it is like
Playa O Pedrido occupies the mouth of the Mandeo river, where the beach is subject to tidal variations. The beach, with dark sand, measures 500 metres long by 40 metres wide and combines an urban frontage with a semi-urban setting protected as a Site of Community Importance (SCI). Its waters are calm, although the details warn of strong currents at both low and high tide and note that the surface increases considerably as the tide falls. It is easily reached on foot or by car, with parking for between 50 and 100 vehicles, as well as toilets and showers.
