Beach at a glance
What it is like
Playa Cueva, also called La Arena, opens at the mouth of the Esva River within the Paisaje Protegido de la Costa Occidental. It is an extensive semi-urban beach of dark sand and rounded stones, 580 metres long and 210 metres wide, framed by a mountainous frontage and vegetation. It has moderate swell and moderate visitor numbers. Access is easy on foot or by car from the N-634, with more than 100 parking spaces, toilets, showers and a cleaning service.
