What it is like
Playa de la Herbosa is an isolated beach of rounded stones, 380 metres long and 25 metres wide, situated before a vegetated cliff. Its strong waves and difficult access explain the low use, but the most relevant fact is that cliff landslides have left it without an access path. It forms part of Paisaje Protegido de la Costa Occidental, within a Special Protection Area for Birds (ZEPA) and a Site of Community Importance (SCI). The N-632 is the reference road and Luarca the associated port.
