Playa Abrela is distinguished by the large pine-covered dune system accompanying this semi-urban fine-sand beach. Measuring 950 metres long and 70 metres wide, it forms a vegetated dune frontage within a Site of Community Importance (SCI), and its usual conditions are described as sheltered. There is a picnic area nearby. It is easily reached on foot from the LU-862, with parking for between 50 and 100 vehicles. The beach has toilets, showers, a walkway and accessibility facilities for people with reduced mobility.
