What it is like
Playa de Os Monxes, also known as Alegrín, is an isolated white-sand beach opening beneath a mountainous coastal frontage. The beach is 140 metres long and its width varies between 10 and 25 metres, in surroundings of vegetation-covered cliffs protected as a ZEPA and a Site of Community Importance (SCI). Access is difficult and is on foot, with the LU-862 as a reference; the interurban bus stop is 5 kilometres away. Moderate waves complete the secluded, natural character of this stretch of coast.
