What it is like
Playa de la Platja, also known as Platja de les Barques, occupies the town centre of L'Escala with a golden-sand shore 165 metres long and 20 metres wide. The seafront promenade, calm waters and high occupancy reflect its character as an urban beach integrated into the town. It is easily reached on foot or by car, with between 50 and 100 parking spaces and interurban bus transport. Practical facilities include showers, toilets, food establishments and a tourist office.
