What it is like
Playa de Barrika is an isolated beach of sand, pebbles and rock, enclosed beneath cliffs whose instability makes remaining on the dry area inadvisable. Its 600-metre length and 30-metre width form an extensive strip, with geological points of interest on the cliff and shore platform. Access is difficult on foot, down a long flight of steps, and the nearest road is the BI-2122. There is parking for more than 100 vehicles, as well as showers, foot-washing facilities and lifeguard service during the summer season.
