What it is like
Playa Vargas is characterised by its extent and by a shoreline formed entirely by pebbles. In Agüimes, this isolated stretch reaches 1,300 metres in length and 15 metres in width, despite being listed as having an urban coastal frontage. It has low occupancy, is windy and has moderate waves. Access is by car from the GC-1, with parking and an interurban bus service; skisurfing is expressly associated with the site, together with a surf area.
