What it is like

Characteristics published by official sources

Playa Navia forms at the mouth of the river of the same name and combines dark sand with a dune frontage. It is 330 metres long and 55 metres wide, in semi-urban surroundings with a promenade, vegetation and ZEPA and Site of Community Importance (SCI) protection. Its waters have strong swell, while the pool area, influenced by the tides, provides an area of environmental value. Access is easy on foot or by car via the N-634; there is parking for between 50 and 100 vehicles and a picnic area beneath two wooden shelters.
