What it is like
Playa de Foxos, also known as Ortiguera, lies at the mouth of the Navia, in an isolated setting of cliffs and vegetation protected as a Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) and a Site of Community Importance (SCI). It is a golden-sand beach measuring 220 metres long and 20 metres wide, with strong surf and wind. Access is signposted and possible on foot or by car from the N-634, with parking for fewer than 50 vehicles. For practical purposes, it offers showers, foot-wash facilities, litter bins, cleaning and a picnic area in a nearby pine grove.
