What it is like
Playa Arnelles is a semi-urban beach near Puerto de Ortiguera, 120 metres long and 42 metres wide. Golden sand opens onto mountainous surroundings with vegetation, protected as a ZEPA and Site of Community Importance (SCI), with moderate swell. Its moderate visitor numbers and limited dimensions create a sheltered beach, although it has showers and basic access. It is reached by car from the N-634, and the final section is covered on foot via steps from the car park, which has fewer than 50 spaces.
