Playa Frouxeira stands out for its size: 3,000 metres long and 80 metres wide, with golden sand. The semi-urban beach runs alongside a dune frontage and is accompanied by the lagoon da Frouxeira, declared a Special Protection Area for Birds. The beach forms part of an area designated as a Site of Community Importance (SCI), ZEPA and Ramsar site, with vegetation and a promenade. Its usual conditions are strong waves and wind. It is reached by car via the DP-5404; there is parking for more than 100 vehicles, a nearby interurban bus, toilets, showers and a play area.
