Playa Doniños stands out for the breadth of its beach and the dune setting that accompanies it. The beach reaches 1,900 metres in length and 50 metres in width, with golden sand, vegetation and an isolated frontage within a ZEPA/SCI protected area. Surf-related activities feature prominently in its official observations, while the seafront promenade runs through this coastal landscape. Access is by car via the DP-3607 and DP-3608 roads, with more than 100 parking spaces; there are also showers, a surfing area and a food service.
