What it is like
Playa del Marqués, also known as Cala del Cañuelo, is an isolated spot on the coast of Nerja, set between mountains within a protected natural setting. Its 700-metre length and barely 10-metre width form a strip of dark gravel surrounded by vegetation, with an anchoring area. Access is by car via the N-340 and there is parking for more than 100 vehicles, although the record classifies access as difficult. Basic facilities include showers, litter bins, cleaning and restaurants.
