Playa del Hipódromo is the longest beach in Melilla, measuring 750 metres long and 60 metres wide, and is characterised by golden sand and an urban character. The seafront promenade accompanies a highly frequented coastal frontage, with waters that are calm or have moderate waves. Its size and identification as the city's longest beach distinguish it from the rest of Melilla's coastline. Access is easy on foot or by car from the ML-106, with more than 100 parking spaces and an interurban bus service. It has food and drink establishments, showers, nautical equipment hire and beach services.
