Playa de Riells is the most tourist-oriented beach in L'Escala and an urban beach 600 metres long and 50 metres wide. Golden sand, the seafront promenade and the protected dune system form an urban coastline with vegetation, anchorage and moderate waves. Visitor numbers are high. It is easily reached on foot or by car via the GI-623, with parking for fewer than 50 vehicles and an urban bus service; it has an amphibious chair, adapted showers, nautical hire and a sports area.
