What it is like

Characteristics published by official sources

Playa de Bakio is a large urban and sports beach, 982 metres long and 65 metres wide, with sand and a continuous seafront promenade. Occupancy is high and the usual waves are strong, while the urban frontage maintains a direct relationship with the town centre of Bakio. From the right bank, near the viewpoint, a path leads towards the protected San Juan de Gaztelugatxe biotope, a prominent feature of the surroundings. It is easy to reach on foot or by car via the BI-3101, with more than 100 parking spaces and an urban bus. There is a sports area, children’s area, food and a surf area.
