What it is like
Playa Compostela, together with A Concha, forms one of the most representative coastal areas of Vilagarcía de Arousa. It is an extensive urban sandy beach 2,000 metres long, though very narrow, with a width of 7.3 metres, fine sand and a completely developed seafront. The promenade runs alongside the beach and helps explain its direct relationship with the city, where visitor numbers are usually high. Access is easy on foot or by car, with parking for between 50 and 100 vehicles and an interurban bus service. Toilets, showers, a children's area, food and nautical equipment hire complete its practical facilities.
