Playa de Illa Cortegada is not a single beach but a small island whose beach areas—Balouredo, Sartaxes, Muelle-Aldea and Batel—together have a total perimeter of 1,500 metres. The isolated, vegetation-covered group is designated a Natural Area and has golden sand, a mountain frontage and calm waters. Access is restricted and possible only by boat, with anchorage available and an interurban transport connection. The site's distinctive feature lies precisely in its island character and limited visitation.
