What it is like
Playa Chanteiro combines a white sandy beach with a cliff face and a semi-urban setting, within an area protected as a Site of Community Importance (SCI). Its 350-metre length and mere 15-metre width create a narrow beach with medium occupancy, calm waters or moderate swell. A ramp facilitates access to the beach for people with reduced mobility, and there is also parking for fewer than 50 vehicles. The showers, foot-washing facilities and cleaning service provide convenience without detracting from the coastal landscape.
