Playa Barrañán is a natural beach of white, fine sand comprising the beach, a dune complex and a marshland area. It is 1,100 metres long and 20 metres wide, facing north along a semi-urban frontage, within a Site of Community Importance (SCI), and has strong swell and windy conditions; the source also notes surfing. The promenade and vegetation complete the setting. It is easily reached on foot or by car via the Arteixo-Caión road, with more than 100 spaces, an interurban bus service and adapted access. There are toilets, showers, cleaning, food services and a surfing area.
