Beach at a glance
What it is like
Playa América is a large urban beach in Nigrán occupying much of the ría de Baiona. Its 1,300 metres of length and 100 metres of width extend over white sand, with a promenade, vegetation and anchorage areas. The urban frontage has moderate waves and wind, and visitor numbers are listed as high. It is easily reached on foot or by car via the Vigo to Baiona road, with a car park of more than 100 spaces and an interurban bus stop 0.5 kilometres away. Toilets, showers, food services, nautical equipment hire, a sailing club and a sports area complete the facilities.
