What it is like
Playa de la Duquesa, also called Las Gaviotas, stretches alongside the marina of La Duquesa, in an urban area with dark sand, a seafront promenade and moderately wavy waters. Its 1,600-metre length and 30-metre width form a high-occupancy stretch linked to an archaeological area where the Castillo de la Duquesa and a Roman site are preserved. Access is easy on foot or by car, with parking for between 50 and 100 vehicles and an interurban bus service between La Línea and Estepona. There are toilets, showers, food, watersports hire, a club and sports areas.
