Playa de la Atalaya is an isolated shell-shaped beach of rounded stones and gravel lying before a cliff. Its 720-metre length contrasts with a width of 30 metres, and its outline is separated from Cazonera by the islets of El Paso. Waves are strong and use is medium, in a vegetated setting included in a Special Protection Area for Birds (ZEPA) and a Site of Community Importance (SCI). Access on foot from the N-632 is difficult. The listing identifies Puerto de San Esteban as the port reference but records no facilities.
