What it is like
Playa del Fraile is an isolated beach 420 metres long and 39 metres wide, formed by sand, rounded stones and dark gravel at the foot of a cliff. Strong waves and the presence of rocks make bathing conditions difficult, in surroundings with low visitor numbers and vegetation. The seafront promenade accompanies this stretch, which the listing protects as a natural area, although pedestrian access is partly restricted along Camino de El Fraile. It is reached on foot via an easy route from the TF-445.
