What it is like
Playa del Arenal, also called Los Nietos Arenal, is an urban beach on the Mar Menor, 200 metres long and 20 metres wide. Its dark sand, promenade with vegetation and calm waters define a semi-urban frontage with medium occupancy and a gentle slope. The lagoon surroundings are subject to six forms of protection and the GR 92 passes through the area. Access is easy on foot, by car or by boat; there is parking for fewer than 50 vehicles, an urban bus, foot showers, lifeguard services and first aid.
