What it is like
Playa de Castro, also known as La Fajana, retains the character of an isolated beach in an almost untouched setting. It extends for about 200 metres in front of a cliff, with a combination of rounded stones and black volcanic sand, and forms part of a protected natural area of great landscape value. The landscape includes a notable palm grove of Canary Island palms and some dragon trees. Access on foot is difficult, although there is parking and urban transport nearby; the water generally has moderate waves.
