Playa de Castelldefels is an extensive urban beach of golden sand reaching 4,840 metres in length and 90 metres in width. The seafront promenade links its three sectors —la Pineda, les Lluminetes and el Baixador— in a frontage with high visitor numbers, calm waters and windy conditions. Its practical identity is linked to nautical activity: it has a Yacht Club and sailing schools, as well as nautical hire and sports areas. Access is easy on foot or by car, with more than 100 parking spaces and several urban bus routes.
