What it is like
Playa de Arra is an isolated beach beside the municipality of Llanes, formed by golden sand, rounded stones and rock in an area of cliffs and mountains. Its 320-metre length but only 12-metre width create a narrow, little-used strip included in a Special Protection Area for Birds (ZEPA) and a Site of Community Importance (SCI). Moderate waves and wind accompany the vegetated setting. The listing states that access is interrupted by landslides; the intended access is difficult on foot from the N-634. It is also identified as a suitable area for diving.
