What it is like
Playa de A Orixeira, also called A Urixeira, is an isolated beach of white sand whose width changes considerably with the tide. Its 70-metre length and 10-metre width face a mountainous landscape, within Red Natura 2000, with a seafront promenade, vegetation and an area where small fishing boats are landed. The entry warns that the available space becomes very limited at high tide and notes strong currents and a birdwatching viewpoint. It is reached by car via the AC-431, with an interurban bus 1 kilometre away, showers, foot showers and cleaning services.
