What it is like
A Hortiña is a virtually inaccessible beach with no occupancy, with the nearest hamlet about 3 km away, situated in front of a cliff and within ZEPA and Site of Community Importance (SCI) areas. Its 130 metres in length and 21-metre width combine rounded stones, rock and gravel, with vegetation and strong, windy waves. It also disappears at high tide, a feature that completely determines its configuration. Access on foot is difficult from Covarradeiras and no specific public facilities are indicated.
