What it is like
Playa de Trece is not a single beach but a group of 13 coves of sand or pebbles separated by rock formations. Together they comprise more than one kilometre of sand interspersed with rock, within a landscape of dunes, vegetation and protection as a Site of Community Importance (SCI). It is an isolated coast with low occupancy, marked by wind and strong waves; the entry also warns of a very windy area and tides with a strong undertow. It is easily reached on foot from the AC-432 road. Its route forms part of several trails, including the Costa da Morte and the Camariñas coastline.
