What it is like
Playa de Sarridal is dominated by Pena Furada, a distinctive perforated islet overlooking this extensive beach of white sand and rock. The beach reaches 1,050 metres in length and 100 metres in width, between a mountain and cliff frontage, within an area protected as a Site of Community Importance (SCI). It is an isolated beach with low occupancy, strong waves and a windy character. Access is on foot via a difficult route, a practical feature worth bearing in mind together with the scarcity of sand when the tide rises.
