Characteristics published by official sources

Playa de Portelo consists of two coves separated by a rock, on a mountainous coastal frontage with vegetation. The combined beach is 30 metres long and 20 metres wide, combining white sand and rock with moderate waves. Although it is isolated and lightly occupied, access is difficult on foot from the CP 1510 road between Burela and San Ciprián. There is an interurban bus service and the listing records Club Náutico de Foz as the nautical reference.
