What it is like
Playa O Portelo, Burela's quintessential beach, occupies the urban frontage with a large beach 700 metres long and 70 metres wide. The sand is fine and the space runs alongside a seafront promenade, with usually high occupancy and a sheltered beach. Access is easy on foot and adapted for people with reduced mobility; there is also a bus service and more than 100 parking spaces. Showers, foot-wash facilities, cleaning, food and lifeguard service complete the facilities.
